Moxibustion:
Moxibustion or moxa
is the dried herb known as artemisia vulgaris, or mugwort.
It is a warming technique, often rolled up in a stick, burned and held over certain
acupuncture points to further stimulate the healing process by circulating blood and qi, the body's natural energy. It can be also used directly on the skin or applied to
the end of the needle.
Cupping:
Only Cupping: $40
Cupping
is a traditional technique that has been used in many cultures. A vacuum is created within a glass cup by using heat and then placed on the body. The resulting sensation can be described as warming and a gentle pulling. The cups are can be used over different areas of the body to do variety of treatments, anywhere from relaxing muscle tension to aiding in constipation, to preventing the first signs of a cold or flu from getting worse. Cupping often leaves
marks on the skin that look like bruises, but don't feel like bruises! Despite this patients
keep coming back for more!
Gua sha:
Similar
to cupping, Gua Sha increases the qi and blood flow to an area of tight
musculature. Massage oil is applied to the skin, and pressure is
applied using a smooth tool in a scraping motion. It can be described
as a deep massage, and like cupping may leave marks on the skin. The benefits can be quite tremendous!
Tui Na Massage:
Tui
Na is a form of traditional Chinese massage which may be used before or
after an acupuncture treatment to facilitate healing and relax muscles.
